The cash and the prized yarchagumba


Yarchagumba and cash worth Rs. 40 million has been looted at Naure highlands of Phoksundo VDC in Dolpa District this morning, police said.

A group of some 12 armed people looted the cash and the Yarchagumba, caterpillar fungus widely used as herbal aphordisiac, from a tent when the yarsagumba traders and the people who had gone there to collect it had been sleeping.The assailants barged into the tent all of a sudden in the middle of the night and threatened the occupants to lay prostate while they looted the cash and the prized yarchagumba.

A team of the Nepalese Army and another team of 11 police personnel from the District Police Office Dolpa have left for the incident site which is situated inside the Shey-Phoksundo National Park, Chief District Officer (CDO) of Dolpa Krishna Khanal told RSS.

Similarly, the Nepalese Army said that a team has left from its Rigmo post to the incident site soon after getting information about the incident. The incident site is three days’ trek from the district headquarters, Dunai.
