Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stressed the need of bringing the Nepal Sambat into practice as the government has already decided to recognize it as a national calendar.While unveiling a statue of Shankhadhar Sakhwa, the founding father of Nepal Sambat amidst a special ceremony at Thankot on the occasion of the Nepal Sambat 1137 today, the Prime Minister said the Nepal Sambat is the country’s original calendar, emphasizing the need of collective efforts to bring it into official practice.
Stating that the government was actively working to seek a ground for meaningful enforcement of the constitution, he said the process to amend the country’s main law was already in the progress.
The Prime Minister further said the successful completion of the post- earthquake reconstruction efforts and the promotion of good governance were among the areas of focus of the government, he said the government has laid special priority to the widening of the Thankot-Kalanki road section.
